I'm really surprised by the negative reviews I read. I'm really enjoying it.
I'm not a good critic, but The writing is what I'm used to/ good/ normal. So far everything I expect from books I like. Has the feel of ghe Lux series or ednah Walters

If touching takes a person with you, and the father pulls them back suddenly, what keeps them from bringing the pain back to the future

I dont think the author is American. Some phrasing is either typoed or diff than Americans. Like "that weed'

Plot hole.. why wouldn't they have pre-made excuses to tell"friends" when the feeling is coming on. I mean she could just say she has IBS and sometimes has to suddenly sirens a lot of time in the bathroom.

This may be explained later, but for someone so obsessed with their secrecy, why would the father plan time trips during the school day at all? Why not just on weekends? Or why not homeschool the kids? Why not make a family appointment and let everyone know when and where and what they are going for?

I dont know why I'm still reading this. It's nowhere near as good as The Space Between.
Things that bug me: the Jordan character doesn't feel realistic to me. I keep imagining a 1950s greaser group.

I love Riden but I don't think he is right for Alosa. She needs someone mellow to match her temper rather than someone with his own temper. I dont know yet what his deal is, but I don't like that he is currently mad at her for being a siren. It's like he isn't accepting her for who she is.

This one is kinda boring. They spend a ton of time recruiting humans and each trip is basically doing the same thing...explaining to humans what they are doing. Also some chapters of dragon lore but they were kinda confusing.

I'm having to force myself through this one. It's so boring. I know her characters grow during her stories, but I just don't like Katerina nor Gustav. Gustav should have the power to shift into a donkey because he's just an @.
And all the powers and lineage makes no friggin sense, and makes less sense with each book. I just want to be dive with this one.

And raine will have power over the fates of everyone and there is a special name for what she is (but didn't say)

Apparently Eirick really was just a pawn to manipulate Raine and it really was all about her and not Eirick. Malina had a plan to become even more powerful than a norn and is under the protection of someone and that's how she his herself from raine and thr other valkyries. Raine is supposed to start the beginning of ragnorak and be the decider of the fates of God's and the 9 realms. Raine is a powerful seeress

E's runes appeared after the swim tragedy. The scars reappear ed after the Cliff house. His ru es are mirrored and upside down. Why is E being standoff ish and mean to rain?

I don’t think I can take much more of this. I'm trying to be empathetic bc she's lost her whole world, but she expects everything to be the same with everyone else, but she herself doesn't feel the same about anything. And her BF is amazing that he is still trying with her and she treats him like shit.

Started off very interesting. Now she's returning to her old life and her crappy friends keep blowing her off and it's so cringe. I wish things would move along already.

Hmm. We've been without Colt for too long. And I have mixed feelings about her decision.

So far, excellent. She does reference works of art a lot that I would be curious to look up (wish there was an appendix) but don't want to stop reading to do so. I read ahead at all the ghosts' stories.

This book should have been dual POV. this scene should have been included somehow. Just jump right in in there

It's weird how big moments (first seeing him, her first kiss) are written like they're no big deal. There's not much build up or going into much detail in the moment.

Going okay. Occasionally the writing feels a little choppy or a little rushed. Occasionally there are small inconsistencies, continuity errors. But not so much that I can't over look it since the story is interesting.
