Reading my Danish children’s books 👶

My first book in Danish ☺️

But it is page turner.

The main character is so TRIGGERING. The racist and manipulative mind she has annoys the shit out of me. I know this book is supposed to show white privilege and racism but she’s written so superficially it takes me out of the story.

“(Ed was in trouble) I grabbed my black lamb toy that Robert had given to me. It was his black sheep boy to black sheep girl present. Ed was something of a black sheep himself, so I took it along as a comforting talisman.”

God, I love artsy people.

Some of my favorite quotes up until now:
- My love of prayer was gradually rivalled by my love for the book.
- No one expected me. Everything awaited me.
- I wondered why he devoted so much time to me. I reasoned it was because we were both wearing long coats in July, the brotherhood of La Bohème.
- Romanticism could not quench my need for food.

Something in Patti’s writing style captivates me so much.

Happy to be reading a book with more female energy after finishing 1984.

Excited for this one

Dnf-ing my last book. Giving this one a second chance. Please let me get out of this reading slump!

Obsessed. Now I can finally write down every thought I have during every part of every scene of every episode of the whole series.

I can’t seem to get out of my reading slump so let’s start the next Anne of Green Gables book!
