I hate this book. I don’t care about who the characters are or what happens to them. I enjoy the depressing setting of a futuristic deep-sea science lab, but it’s not enough to keep me going.

Steven Romano is 30% done with The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women

I was reading this book during a trip to Texas. While waiting in the terminal for my flight home, I began feeling very nauseous. During this time I was reading about the effects of radiation on the jaw of a woman. I have a pretty strong stomach, but when I read that her jaw fell off, I had to stop reading and haven’t felt like reading this since.
