Increasingly questioning the point of this as each story is trauma piled on top of cheating, and I'm starting to highly doubt these are "real stories" - but can I really dnf another bookclub book? 🙈

Dnf'ing. First story-inside-the-story about child labor in a coal mine, second story about child sexual abuse - I cannot.
The writing is also nit for me; hard to follow, lots of metaphors and more poetry than direct.
