Not even 100 pages in and this book has ripped my heart out and stepped on it

Coho is the queen of telling and not showing. Why even bother letting us read Verity’s manuscript if the next two pages are going to be a recount of it plus telling exactly how we should feel about it? Why can’t it just be disturbing without Lowen taking an extended paragraph to say it’s disturbing?? Driving me crazy!
