this is not the cute, light read that i was expecting. i'm enjoying it but also not lol

I don't think I've felt this betrayed before. And just when I started to think it was getting a tad boring.

I had high hopes reading Diana Wynne Jones for the first time but this has been such a slog to get through.

Why does this read like YA? Or fanfiction?

I don't think I've read a fiction book that talks about depression and suicide so frankly, wow. Given that it's YA, I'm a bit concerned a romantic relationship will fix everything and they'll live happily ever after but we shall see. I'd love this as an adult novel.

All signs were pointed to one direction, maybe two, but in typical Riley Sager fashion, this has taken *a turn*
