So far, this book has been dry and monotonous and reads more like an academic paper than science fiction. The author relishes using scientific jargon and it feels like he's trying to overcomplicate things.
My suspicions were confirmed when I heard the phrase "over 2000 milliliters"... just say "over two liters"... because that's what you meant, Cixin.
Golden rule of quantitative reporting: keep it simple, stupid.
