Elise is starting I've Got Time: A Zen monk's guide to a calm, focused and meaningful life
I really liked this. It's written by a Zen monk and has a lot of zen philosophy in it but no actual religious content which makes it suitable for anyone. This is a very gentle time management framework. My time management situation is pretty unique but I could find a useful perspective which tells me that pretty much anyone else could too.

Elise is starting NLT Immerse: The Reading Bible: Large Print Messiah – Read the New Testament Gospels and Letters in the New Living Translation Without Chapter or Verse Numbers
I'm absolutely loving this. It's been too long since I sat down and just read without skipping around or cross-referencing or "studying". Just reading is it's own special thing and this version makes it a joy.

She wants me to parent my inner infant. I can't even.

I had high expectations for this book but it seems pretty overwrought and histrionic so far. There's a piece of dramatic "infant fiction" hypothesizing the experiences of a 6 week old baby. I just can't with that.

I think if the words "artisanal" and "bespoke" were removed from the book the prose would collapse of its own pretentious weight.
