Loving this story ! I need to slow down reading it so I don't finish it too soon. What an important book about the tenacity needed to survive in Germany after WWII.

Only about 1/4 the way through but really tired of these whiny characters. Wonder if I will make it through the story or if I will just scan through the pages? Enough already about the barbecue. Just tell me what really happened that day.

I am rereading this in preparation for my visit to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam next weekend. I last read it as a teenager.

Loving this book!! Won the Scott O'dell award last week.

Am loving this book. I find myself thinking about the characters even when I am not reading it.
