Two things you're going to want to do while reading this book is to eat and not eat. Whichever one you do, you'll come away with a better understanding of what it's like to struggle with life long weight and food issues.

Ginger Gritzo is reading A Year by the Sea: Thoughts of an Unfinished Woman
It's a little self indulgent to complain about your life while living in a vacation home on the Cape for a whole year.

Ginger Gritzo is 10% done with Knocking on Heaven's Door: The Path to a Better Way of Death
I started listening to this book this morning. The topic is difficult but necessary. It's unfortunate that the author chose to narrate it herself. Her rythym is off and she speaks far too slowly, making the listening duration much longer than it needs to be. Still, the information she shares is important, so I'll stick with her to the end. Pun definitely not intended.

I have never procrastinated reading the ending of a book until this one. I don't want my heart to break, which is where I feel this will lead.

Ginger Gritzo is finished with There Is No Me Without You: One Woman's Odyssey to Rescue Africa's Children
This book will make you want to do one or all of three things: 1. Move to Ethiopia to help the children, 2. Adopt one or more of their children, 3. Donate all your money and/or time to fighting AIDS.

Ginger Gritzo is reading Winter's Tale
This book is loaded with lots of pretty words strung together with similes like a strand of popcorn, each piece pierced by the small hands of children and lovingly wound around a Christmas tree so tall it's upper branches tickle the top most reaches of a cathedral ceiling.

Ginger Gritzo is reading Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers
You might want to skip this if vivid descriptions of what happens to your body after death make you squeamish. If not, you will be morbidly fascinated. It's certainly keeping me awake on my drive from PA to MA.

Ginger Gritzo is finished with Gone Girl
I would have given this a higher rating except for the ending. I see oodles of opportunity for a sequel. There are a lot of strings left untied.

Ginger Gritzo is reading Between Expectations: Lessons from a Pediatric Residency
Its a good book. Realistic. Dour. Cold. Mostly realistic. I have a new appreciation for my girls' pediatricians and the fact that they never needed one to stay alive.

Ginger Gritzo is 53% done with In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin
This book is educating me in the various reasons the US didn't take action against Germany or even take a stand until much too late, such as its own issues with negro voting laws, lynchings, and anti-Semetic feelings. Worse, the US didn't want to say anything that would cause Germany to default on its loan.
