My laptop was in the shop for two weeks getting fixed so I've almost caught up being so far behind on my challenge, haha (I don't take the challenge that seriously, mind you, if I make it, I make it, if not nbd)

The first page of this book, the Author's Note, already has a red flag: "[the word "queer" can hold (well, most of) the Ls, the Bs, the Gs, the Ts, and everyone else on the expanding alphabet. For this reason, however, it has sometimes lost its queer meaning, particularly in the United States. If everyone is queer, no one is." I'd love to know what members of the community the author seems to deem "not queer enough"!

Logged my 1000th book read on here which is quite nice! Obviously there were a bunch I didn't remember reading from when I was young so I hit 1000 books read a while ago but still!

My library finally reopened so I'm excited to get started on a batch of books this week. Although I've been slowly getting through the piles of books to read many of which I've had for about ten years at this point lol. Most of them are the same few authors and/or later in a series so I need to read others first anyway.

Honestly I’m not even sure why I’m continuing with this series as I find them frustrating but let’s see

I really have no idea why Goodreads got rid of the "Most read author" feature.

I've finally reserved books from the library as they're doing a Click and Collect service so my mum can pick them up for me. I still have piles of books I should be getting through at home though. Doesn't help I spent the whole month reading a series on my Kindle!

It's frustrating not to be able to afford a bunch of books I want to read, especially non-fiction. The books left on my shelves from my to-read piles that I've not gotten round to yet are mainly white male authors and many of the books I probably wouldn't bother to pick up today. But because of lockdown the library is closed, so I'm taking the opportunity to get through them and free up the space.

First year I didn't complete my reading challenge but that's fine, lol.
