Inching towards the finish line

Slogging my way through. How did I enjoy Anna Karenina so much and find this so difficult? (Yes I know they're different authors.) At least Crime and Punishment was 300 pages.

Reading this one chapter per month with my book club.

Trying not to jump ahead and read the ending...

Not *that* grey book. This is a futuristic dystopia about people divided based on how much color they can see.

So Mantel isn't a fan of Thomas More. Or Anne Boleyn.

Adorable. I love Jude. My only quibble is that two or more polyhedral dice are called dice, but a single needs to be called a "die" and she continues to say a single "dice".

Ugh, this Chad guy

This came highly recommended by someone I trust, so I had to try it. Honestly, 80 pages in I was ambivalent. Do I trust him? Is he ever sincere? I appreciate humor writing and love a memoir, but this was just *so* sad. I listened to him be interviewed on The Bulletin podcast and that helped me go into what feels like Act 2 (he has a PhD in playwriting, so I can't help but think of the story in acts) with an open mind

"Everything is against me. And now I am shot by a child." Makes me laugh every time.

When Neville is brave and good near the end. 😭😭😭😭😭

I wonder how Pa Ingalls' fortunes would have been different if he had had sons as well as daughters.

Why did I watch season 2 of Jeeves and Wooster, thus spoiling the plot for myself? Why? WHY?!

My daughter realized this book contains a pirate and so it is being shelved for now.

I wish I could quote this whole thing on here. I am fighting the urge to read ahead and not tell my daughter.

This book is so fabulous.

I'm reading this aloud to my almost 4-year-old. I'm enjoying revisiting this classic with her.
