Eh. It's a bit interesting, but I'm not that into it.

I kind of like this emerging storyline of Grace taking advantage of trends and knowledge that she has from five years in the future and trying to leverage that to get ahead. I'm interested to see what happens with it.

I really don't know if it's the narration or something about the perspective we get in the Henry chapters, but I really dislike them. This always seems to happen whenever I read one of these novels with alternating perspectives between the two love interests. The female perspective I enjoy and the male perspective drives me barmy.

It's getting better again. I much prefer Grace's chapters, as usual.

I never updated my progress last week

It's been 7 years, I remember nothing so I'm just starting again.

I think I'm just going to give up. I really don't care. I'm not engaged. All the flowery language is really frustrating. I'm sick of it.

I feel like I've broken the back of it now. Not a great place to be for a book club still, but it'll have to do.

I've started listening to the audiobook, but it's terrible. The emphasis in sentences is all over the place; so many sentences are so lumpy in this book already, and the narration manages to make them all so much more awkward. Even worse, he manages to make even the concise, well-phrased stuff sound awkward and lumpy.
He's terrible as distinguishing who's speaking, or if it's dialogue at all.
As for the story, shrug

These Reverend chapters are almost immediately starting to annoy me. They're clearly not written like a letter would be written. They're written like speech. Which is whatever, but it breaks the immersion.
I'm making okay pace through the August chapters. They're compelling enough. But whenever an Albert chapter comes up, it really slows me down. I don't think the dictionary format works. And it seems really random

I'm tired.

So far, I'm finding the writing style really hard to follow. The words just seem to be in the wrong tenses. The sentences are really awkward and lumpy. Anyway, what can you do?
