I like this book but romanticizing being 15 is just never going to resonate with me

I adored I’ll Give You the Sun when I was in high school, so I’m interested to see if her writing still holds up

Am I supposed to like Simone Bergeron? I’m genuinely wondering. She is one of the most aggravating characters I’ve ever had the misfortune of reading about

Three main problems so far: (1) writing is so cringey with so many modern references it’s hard to get through at times (2) the whole fucking book so far has been exposition — I’m a third of the way through and the main plot has not started (3) I’m really hating the ambiguous “student body” POV in the Tiffin Talks chapters that is (for some reason) interspersed with the POVs of specific characters?

Oh this book is so trashy and yet so entertaining
