I’m going take myself finish this because it’s short, but why are all her other books SO BAD. I was hoping she’d shine with short stories, but they aren’t any better. A couple of good ones, but by and large this is a one hit wonder author

Eve Babitz is one of those writers that I hear way too much about (always in association with Joan Didion) and think “there’s no way this is actually worth all the hullabaloo”. But everyone is right, she is that ‘it girl’ writer that draws you in.

I can’t stop. Must finish today. Read read read.

The way I’m so obsessed with this book. One of the very few books where I’m not mad about it being 500+ pages. I advocate for more!!!!!!

I am enthralled, I understand why everyone loves this book. It’s as entertaining as it’s purported to be. 100% going to finish tomorrow

I didn’t think I would like this but for some reason I can’t put this down. Lines come from left field but aren’t tacky. It’s also more new age but not cringe. Excited to read more!
