Idk I was kinda craving a 2012 style ya fantasy (even tho this came out in 2022)

I had 3 days off and I still didn’t finish this pls let me be free (I’m enjoying it actually but damn)

Back on my realm of the elderlings grind

Can I finish this in one day?

The tone, the setting, the magic - it all just scratches an itch in my brain

Happened to see a TikTok on this a couple days before its release when I previously hadn’t heard anything about it and was intrigued enough by the premise and high praise to want to give it a go

The first half was fun, but I feel myself losing interest now

Other than the highly intriguing magic system, the world-building is pretty meh. But I fear childhood best friends to lovers is gonna do it for me every time

With the mini series adaptation coming out, I thought a re-read was in order. It’s been 11 years since I first read this. Let’s see if it holds up.

The concept for this is insane, and this book is overall verging on perfection except that I’m not feeling the romance like at all 😭

My first foray into this author’s work, and I must say her writing is exquisite
