all i ever want is to explore the complex, fraught relationship between two close friends over the decades. distraught with this book. disgusted i'm almost finished.

there is nothing--nothing--i love more than a book that explores a hobby/industry (about which i know little) with such careful, loving nuance. that philosophically (i'm so. so sorry about this, guys. really. i also wish i wasn't me) challenges how i've viewed that hobby/industry and fundamentally changes how i will understand it from here on out.
