I'm really struggling here. I love Brandon Sanderson, but this story is making me want to die.

I'm really not feeling any chemistry between the two leads. It feels like they got married, so therefore, now they have to be into each other? 😐

Basically, I'm seven pages in to my great grandfather's book (which is falling apart slightly) and I'm already enjoying.

I'm on page 13 and I've already found 3 typos. Did anyone read the book before publishing it?

Just starting this, I can already see that Newland Archer is a jerk. Plus, this seems to be having an Anna Karenina vibe, and we all know how I felt about that monstrosity. We're not off to a great start, but the writing is quite pretty

ug why are any of these people even friends?? Julia is whiney and intolerable. Quentin is self centered and intolerable. They're both hopelessly conceited. I can barely stand it.

Julia is that friend who didn't go to college but who thinks she knows better than you do about Chemistry. Or Accounting. Or Magic. Julia is that person who thinks her way is the best way, because she "paid her dues" or some other backward logic. I hate Julia. Not that I'm a fan of Q, but still, Julia is ruining my reading experience.

At one point Anna thinks to herself "Was there ever a woman more wretched than her?" How about Helen in the Tenant of Wildfell Hall???? The one who married an abusive husband and is trapped in an abusive relationship for YEARS??? And then she has a son, and her abusive husband tries to turn her son against her???? How about her Anna???? STOP COMPLAINING

Levin blaming Kitty for some guy flirting with her is awful and now I hate him. The only character I like now is Kitty.

Anna keeps saying "why didn't I die?"

Now that Levin and Kitty are happily married.I'm about ready to give up on this book, but I've come so far I can't give up now.

Lulz what?? This whole book has been hinting at this happening but I hoped we could escape it. What happened to their PLATONIC female/male relationship?? I loved Rowan in HoF. But this is a little too Twilight-esque for me. I can now say I've been reading this book during two years, and it's not getting any better.
