This is my favorite so far of the series. The relationship between cormoran and Robin is my favorite. I read and listened to the audio for these books and easily the audio is the best. Maybe the best I have ever heard. The narrator is spot on and makes strike even more loveable! I have read several reviews and every one loves the audio! All that being said, this is a dark and grizzly story.

Very well written book about mental illness...so good it is actually depressing. Do not read this book if you are looking for uplifting, this is a REAL type book. I am glad a read it, but it is one of those books that sticks with you in a sad way...

I think I officially am not a fan of this author's books. This is the four one I have read and they are all, ok. Not bad, not good.

One of the best books I have read in a long time. Tragic American history with a difficult and beautiful ending. I enjoyed both the modern day story as much as the past story. Character development was amazing and a heartbreaking story. I would give it 4.5 only because the present main character asked too many questions to herself over and over while she dug I to her family's history/secret. The love story at the en.

Difficult and complex subject, even more difficult to listen to hateful characters. Made me pause to reflect on my own biases and in some circumstances privilege. Did not like the overall message that if you are white you are racist no matter what, whether it is active or passive. I think racism can go both ways and that this country has come a long ways, but we still have an even longer way to go...

Really enjoyed this trilogy. I really wish I would have read them in the right order. Good beach reafs

I wasn't sure about this book at the beginning, but it grew on me. The story grew on me and the main character. She had me laughing out loud to feeling the anxiety inside her. The author did an amazing job explore and really showing the thought life of a person with mental health issues. I really enjoyed this story and loved the ending. Well done.

I don't like grumpy old men and don't like reading about them. However, this had a fantastic ending. Good read.

Good story. Love that it is based off a true story. Didn't love the writing or flow, but I enjoy historical fiction.

4.5 stars. Great character development, interesting plot that kept you eager to read more and fairly good resolution in the end.
