I could listen to (read and hear in my head?) Saleem’s voice for days... and so I shall!

The last story ended with the main character pondering if all of humanity added up together amounted to nothing—that hits right now. Many other stories also do, but I assume this is the case always due to their being carried by the direct, beautiful prose. Funny too, frequently.

Boy, was this guy miserable. Brilliant, but miserable.
