Beth is on page 133 of 320 of Liberal Arts for the Christian Life
These chapters are mini-essays by various members of Wheaton’s faculty on facets of a liberal arts education. As such, this is an easy book to digest in very small bites (or wander away from for a few months…). I just finished a chapter by Alan Jacobs, “How to Read a Book,” which was a great 9-page encapsulation of Reading in an Age of Distraction.

Beth is starting Phineas Redux (Palliser, #4)
While I loved the Barsetshire novels (all but The Small House - Lily Dale is infuriating), I’m more ambivalent about the Pallisers. I can’t be bothered with Victorian politics. But I’m determined to finish off Phineas before I move on to other delights. It’s slow-going in parts, but interest has picked up with a murder (!) plot. Still, Lady Laura may be my second least favorite Trollope heroine of all time.

Beth is 60% done with The Road to Roswell
Argh - listening to this on Spotify, and just exceeded my allotted hours for the month! (I didn’t know that was a thing!) I’ll pick this up again in March, I guess. So far, this is fun, it reminds me of a lot of other Connie Willis books, but not as good as her Oxford time travel series.
