5% in and we're already seeing extortion and hatred of refugees AND women?
What a time to be reading this book.

Can't believe I held out this long on starting it, but I have been torn between excitement vs not wanting to already be out of new Erin Craig reading material 😅

50% in and I just don't care... I don't care about the characters, I don't care what happens. On the cusp of dnf-ing but mama didn't raise no quitter so I'll just keep suffering

Great start to this- hoping the rest of it holds up!

Over halfway in and, while the zoo vibes are whimsical and comforting... not a lot is happening in this story. A lot of relatively low stakes proceedings.

Wow, so cozy. The kind of place/life you'd love to sink into.

6% in and this book is SO interesting and original. I'm invested.

Did our MC just... drive off the road and almost crash their car (aka potentially kill them both) over... a tantrum? And then when confronted completely deflect, make excuses, literally saying "I can't tell you I won't drive us off the road again if you don't..."

Yes. Yes she did. This is why no one likes you, Alice.

I do enjoy this book, but having her as the main character makes it a struggle.

Okay... I get what everyone is saying. The MC is truly not pleasant.

Can't do the audio book... the voices the narrator uses are so cringe. Transitioning to a hard copy asap 😅

This "Reader" is annoyed with our dear narrators constant, unnecessary comments to said Reader 🙃

43% in and it is a rough going... how is something so gay🌈 and so (supposed to be) creepy/spooky SO dull? 🥲

Merritt is privileged garbage. Sad backstory doesn't make up for her personality.
