So, Colt comes back to Praire Creek for his surprise son ... sees his old flame who he didn't bother to reach out to for 18 years (and who HE left) and expects to just rekindle what they had without issue? What? Also, this far in and it reads as more of a sad romance novel than "scariest novel of the year".

- Desai mentioning that Durand wanting to return to his normal self was potentially racist due to his now-Asian identity. Really?
- Still don't quite understand how the technology exists with no progression and it didn't kill him.
- Couldn't help but think that with all the autonomous robots working what does that mean for the job market / labor workers?
- Durand eluding to the Huli Jing being able to help.

Gene altering of adults is impossible/leads to death but somehow it's been done by this gang. It was believed to kill Durand but didn't. I feel like the opposite should have happened. Why did that cop let him go but put out an APB on him being armed and dangerous? With the tablet, why did he get rid of the two from the thugs that were going to snatch him but think the one he bought off junkies was safe?

The Honeymoon of Mrs. Smith - Married to a murder. Is she his next victim or are they working together?

Paranoia - A man who is trying to make it home for his wife's birthday dinner encounters a series of suspicious interactions all culminating with his wife possibly being in on the action.

Lousia, Please Come Home: A girl runs away from her family, for reasons (besides dropping out of college) unknown. When she makes her return 3 years later, she is not recognized by her family that believe it to be a cruel joke played by the neighbor boy.

The Possibility of Evil: An older woman established in the community leads the reader to believe that she is friendly with all and looking out for everyone. However, she leaves anonymous letters for those she believes are performing, or involved in wrongdoing, to expose the evil she believes is hidden in the world.

Easy read. Hopefully the ending/climax is worth the slow build up.

Creep factor gradually increasing with Silas's unfounded infatuation with Iris following ONE meeting.

First story that didn't end with a cliffhanger. Goes back to one of the characters from the first story: Paul. Story covers him and his son Trey going on a hunting trip in order to try to reconnect and end up in a precarious life-or-death situation.

Dreamers: Gawd damn, I wish there wasn't a cliff hanger. Lonnie is complete crazy. I wanted to see how Lonnie and Will would have faced off. Plot still has Will Treadwill in it and this time in a more central, and terrifying, role.

Grief: Father and son embark on a weekend trip with the son's friends to go hunting. Father and son nit-pick and argue throughout most of it with moments of revealed truths such as a pregnancy outside of wedlock and some relationship cheating. When tracking down a 6 point buck that the father shot, he suffers a heart attack which serves as a bonding / "aww" moment of the story.
