It is addictive, the narration is hooking yet simple. The writing has captured the character of Panchali so well that while you read you sense a whilwind of emotions and sensations that she would have felt then. There's love, devotion, responsibility, jealousy, hatred, lust and much more, very tactically weaved in words. One of the best books I have ever read.
