I'm in love with this book so far.

I'm regretting this book club

I think I say this each time I read it. The navidson record is a perfectly serviceable psychological-thriller-nee-parody-of-academic-criticism. The combination of Navidson + truant's interjections fucking suck.
Also, I think that this book suffers from a reread. A lot of the "cool" vibes the text had kinda dissolves when you know what's going on ahead of time. It just feels hamfisted.

Picked it back up after like four years and immediately remembered why I put it down (it gets way too philosophical in chapter 13). But I'm persevering this time
