This long and depressing book, though brilliant, isn't exactly a great one for kicking off the semester in my novel class. Even so, I'm really enjoying it and am considering picking up more of Donna Tartt's work.

This book is making me love Stephen King more and more. Hopefully this will be handy while I'm taking a novel-writing class next term.

So I started this Harry Potter re-read on Tuesday and may or may not already be reading the third one...

I'm only required to read bits and pieces of this book for class, but I've been reading all of it and I'm actually quite impressed with it…

At this point, I'm terrified that Hemingway is just going to break my heart like he always does… I really need to finish this book before finals.

I'm enjoying this read so far, but I'm not quite sure why my professor chose it as a novel to read for class… Our discussions this next week ought to be interesting.

I'm having trouble figuring out how old the main characters are...

I didn't see that coming. This Piers Anthony guy is clever. I can honestly say that I have NO idea what's going to happen next.

Wow... That was odd. I can't decide if a lot of this book is satiric or just science fiction weirdness.

I really like this so far. The story is entertaining, but it's also making me think quite a bit.

I want there to be many more guys like Park in the world.

I'm confused. Am I supposed to hate both of the protagonists now?

A minor thing that's been bothering me: I feel like Veronica Roth (through Tobias' narration, but seemingly not on purpose) fails to realize that there will inevitably be conflict in every civilization. The problem ought to be the source of the conflict, and the meanings behind what people are fighting for. In many cases, including the Divergent series, this should be the main focus of a dystopian fiction.

No. I don't like this.

On another note, it's weird (but also exciting) to be adding college textbooks to my to-read list. Yay!

It's great to spend some more time with Salander and Blomkvist, but I have to admit that I've become a bit disinterested with the plot. I feel like Larsson was so engrossed with ending the trilogy that he forgot to continue to develop the characters -- which has been my favorite part of this series. Oh well. It's alright so far, just not what I hoped it would be.
