Can we talk about how gobsmacked I am by this novel???? I knew it was going to be heavy, but I didn't know how gruesome it would be. I love it. I truly believe Nic Brewer is a writing genius that deserves SO much more attention. I think it is such an important piece of literature, but I also feel like so many people would side-eye this one for its body horror instead of approaching the story with empathy.
