was depressed reading my non-fiction books on war and the rise of ai. this helped me get out of that reading slump.

This is definitely not YA. This explores the unflinching horrors of war.
It’s just so harsh and terrible that I had a hard time reading it. Sometimes, I find that authors seem to almost enjoy it, and use it simply for the horrors of it. But I did not feel this way about it here. It clearly contributes to the story.
Complete honesty, I still felt sometimes a bit lost with the myths and how the powers play together
