This is definitely not YA. This explores the unflinching horrors of war.
It’s just so harsh and terrible that I had a hard time reading it. Sometimes, I find that authors seem to almost enjoy it, and use it simply for the horrors of it. But I did not feel this way about it here. It clearly contributes to the story.
Complete honesty, I still felt sometimes a bit lost with the myths and how the powers play together
