"Most daughters—I'd bet at least 90 percent of them—would react to their mother crying, hold her, comfort her, but the sight of mine in this state puts me on edge."

I never really thought I'd see aspects of my relationships with my parents in a book.

Is it acceptable to want to cry just on the second chapter of the book?

Valaquenta ends with the introduction of Sauron. I'm super hyped but it's slow going with this book.

I tried to read this book in 2016, went through 25-30% of it and then put it down for a bit. Of course, I forgot everything in a week and never picked it up again.

This book reads like the Bible, but thankfully everyone agrees in this case that this is fiction.

“Parts of a whole,” Linus said. “We all have our issues. I have a spare tire around my middle. His father is Satan. Nothing that can’t be worked out if we try hard enough.”

I'm worried I'll never find such a wholesome book ever again.

Maybe need to introspect a little since I'm relating hard to a 40 year old.

I didn't buy this book because I heard about the TV series, if I had, I would started reading from book one. The fact is, I found this book in a Sunday book market, I loved the cover and the title so I picked it up. Costed me 40 rupees (that's less than a dollar). I'm going to be judging the whole series by this book. Pretty unique so far. I like the scenery and the simplicity.
