Hal Ebbott is a profoundly talented writer. This book had me hooked & I deeply cared for Anne. I don’t mind reading deeply unlikable characters as they reflect life however I couldn’t find the actions in the climax of the book justified. I was so let down by the last page. However, it is a deeply emotional & beautifully crafted novel so I am giving it a high score for that.
