Reminding myself to respect the process of a slow burn while simultaneously recognizing that I’m not put off by it at all — I am a sucker for historical fiction.

So perfectly titled for more than one reason, these tender hearts have mine in the center console of the Volkswagen, along for the ride, and I demand — DEMAND — only the happiest endings for everyone.

I don’t know what kind of universal sorcery is at play, but I always read the best books in first two and last two months of the year. And this, so far, is no exception.

I had to text a friend mid page to say, I can already feel in my bones this will be a minimum of 4 stars.

This is chaotic, but exactly my kind of chaos.
