Really enjoying this so far BUT the COVID and political themes are starting to cloud over everything and I feel like it's just unnecessary 🫣

All I can keep thinking at this point is "We listen and we don't judge" but I'm finding that very hard to do 😆

After far too long and many conversations with a friend about needing to start this series, I've FINALLY started! Only on p. 6 but it's feeling promising already 🤞🏼

I will maybe go back to this at some point - I got pretty far into it but lost track and I just don't know if it's worth picking back up at this point 😩

It's not fair for me to rate this one because it's going on my dnf... Started off cute with the bookstore banter but it got boring for me pretty quick. I'm just not interested in making gelato and secret recipes tied with rockstar parents and long lost loves...
Too many books to read and not enough time to push through ones that don't keep my interest 😬

Lisa Jewell is so great at writing the most oddball characters who seemingly live such mundane lives and I love it!

I'm on a roll with Freida and it was available on Libby so why stop now 😂

Because Sager threw us that supernatural curve ball in House Across the Lake, I'm so curious if this will be another supernatural one or if it's going to turn out like his older books with the Scooby Doo vibe where we're led to believe it's something supernatural but by the end there's actually a completely logical reasoning for everything 🧐

Not me being completely sucked into another Freida book even when the last one left me slightly disappointed 😂

So far it's giving Verity meets The Last Mrs. Parrish & The Housemaid which doesn't surprise me but also I am so intrigued 😅

I checked this out from Libby and about 25% in I realized this feels like it's part of a series... Turns out it's the third in a series but can be read as a standalone- I don't normally like doing that but I'm going to keep going! So far so good-
