DNF- not enough substance to the personalities and interpersonal relationships- enemies for no reason, running hot and cold. Too much info dumping on the history and magic system while still not making enough sense. Maybe I’ll try again later but meh.

Listened to Dramatized Adaptation Part 1 of 2

Read the first two. Might not read the rest. The second ended with someone finding a note. The third started with a repeat of that scene, but the note was different. Actually had different words. Is it really that hard to copy and paste the same paragraph into the next book? A bunch of explanations that don’t make sense, time gaps. Eh, the rest isn’t good enough to be annoyed by this kind of inconsistency.

The last story takes place after the book I haven’t read yet, so I’ll come back.

DNF. I had put this down while I read a library book and I just could not get back. It badly needed editing - not sure it had been read through once it was done because there were so many errors. It has a good premise, but the writing just isn’t there yet. Please don’t confuse this Elizabeth Hunter with one of my favorite authors, the Elizabeth Hunter that wrote the Elemental Mysteries and Irin Chronicles.

This is exhausting. Protagonist is unlikable and annoying. I usually push through and finish any book I start but I was not enjoying the experience at all, it was putting me on edge. Not worth my time.
