The writing is brilliant but a drawn out story. I’m invested in, so will read to the end. “Alarming, really, how all the wheels of the world-the days and nights, the thirteen moons, the four seasons, and the great singular round of the year itself-begin spinning faster and faster the closer we get to the Nightland. We’re called to it and it pulls us. And the weaker we become,the harder and faster it pulls.”

Trigger warning at the end of Chapter 2! I was expecting a tragedy but not one that hit so close.

I’m giving up. I’m reading on Audible, not only is the narrators accent annoying I just cannot follow what the heck is going on!

Moving very slow. Just can’t seem to get interested in the 4th of the series but I’ll come back to it.

I’m really struggling to connect with the characters and the plot of this story. I do feel as though I’m stuck on an island. lol

These are in the first 3 chapters. I’m drawn in!

Story is moving very slow.

“But then, in 2016 the greedy assholes joined with the idiot assholes and the paranoid assholes in what turned out to be an unbeatable constituency, Kinnick realizing that the asshole ceiling was much higher than he’d thought, perhaps half the country. Whatever the number, it was even more than he could bear. Especially when they were in his own family.”

I’ve laughed out load a few times and don’t want to put it down. “We live only as long as someone remembers us.”

Very annoyed with Mia and Cameron!

My library loan expired so I’m going to pass on finishing this one.

I’m just not getting into to this. I may come back to it.

Slow going as I keep re-reading several passages. “Adults often think that self-confidence is something a child learns, but little kids are by their nature always invincible, it’s self-doubt that needs to be taught.”

Finally available at the online library for me to pick back up to read.

Ok I actually started this a few weeks ago and tried to connect with again yesterday. I’m putting it on hold again. Not sure if I’ll come back to it.

I had started this one, put it on pause and just picked it back up in honor of Women's History month.

Slow going for me. Just not connecting to the characters, but will keep reading.

Darn it...my online library book expired when I was maybe about halfway through it. I renewed it but there are 4 requests ahead of me. I guess that's what happens when you juggle reading 3-4 books at a time. Will have to finish it later.

I'm decluttering my to read shelf. Lol. It's been on my shelf since 2019, from Amazon First Read. Today I'm going to determine if I'll finish reading it or remove it.
