Old Man's War series is so good, couldnt put those down. This one focuses on political machinations. This was good but i will assume this is a world building first book and then upcoming volumes will turn amp up the plot.

Farley provides insight into the interior dynamics of spiritual health. Her critique of the rigid confines of a penal substitution or satisfaction theory defined theological system is irenic and clearly articulated. She uses this critique to prompt the reader towards more accurate self understanding through an account of the passions. Her addition of terror as a passion is a master-stroke.

"We need to crip the body of Christ to liberate us from settling for inclusion when we could invite people to fully belong."

I read Farleys book on Theodicy and Tragic Vision and ate it up. A friend suggested i try this other one next. Thank God for authors like Farley.

Poetry books always take awhile because i read and re-read and return to the poem to let its words sink in.

I am reading these ones alot.

I have appreciated Lundins scholarly pursuits for a long time. I wanted to read his book on dickinson knowing it would delve deep into the forces that shaped a singular thinker and poet.
