If we focus specifically on use of language and depth of explanation when it comes to the inner turmoils of love, I would consider this a beautiful read. But I do have to agree when other reviews say it’s a bland plot. Boring “nice-guy” falls for a manic pixie dream girl and then is devastated when the situation ship takes a turn for the worse. That pretty much sums it up and I’m 80% through with the story.

Kinda meh. It really feels like a man wrote this, which explains why the horror of parental love turning monstrous falls flatter than you’d hope. Picked it up because the premise seemed to have a lot of potential but it was just a lot of basic gore, man vs. woman in the respective empirical evidence vs. religious miracle, and then the immediate cheating on wives with teenagers in the wake of tragedy. Of course.
