So far this seems like it’ll be very predictable, but I guess I’ll see about that. The last book had multiple unexpected twists so I hope that this one doesn’t disappoint.

Good so far but simple and a bit repetitive. I also like that the author added a bibliography but I wish the sources were more varied and from different perspectives.

Rin is so problematic, like I love this series so much but she’s so annoying. I know Rin isn’t mean to be likeable since she parallels Mao Zedong but I cannot believe someone could possibly be this stubborn and self-centered.

so good so far! just scared for the second half cus idk how i’ll handle it if it’s as devastating as people say.

Eileen is delusional with some very disturbing intrusive thoughts, I hate her character so far but I also understand the reason for this since this is more so a character study than a novel. It’s interesting from an analytical view but so far, I’m not enjoying it much. I hope that something interesting will happen soon.

The author does such a great job at using metaphors for her argument, as well as a variety of interesting examples from people’s experiences.

Also using the idea of “caste” from India to analyze systemic racism around the world is really interesting. From India to Nazi Germany, South Africa, and the US, the basic principles of their hierarchies are the same. I just wish she included Israeli apartheid.

Peeta > Gale

Awad is sooo good at writing about female rage. I really feel for Miranda’s struggle and the annoying people she puts up with, but at the same time, Miranda is morally ambiguous which makes this so complex and interesting.

I liked Dobby before but now I love him. Wish they hadn’t cut him out of the movies so much. I feel attached now.

It’s sad that the movies left out Neville so much, I had no idea that they cut him out of a lot of the scenes. He’s probably one of my favourite characters aside from the main trio.

Dark academia mixed with cults and psychosis. The author’s writing style is very interesting, the descriptions are off-putting in a twisted way but offer a lot of foreshadowing. Really intrigued to see where the story goes.

Basically the medieval version of the enemies to lovers trope.

Surprisingly good so far, the protagonist is likeable and it isn’t very obvious who the murderer is. The writing style is also pleasant and well-paced.
