Je n'arrive pas à rentrer dans cette lecture pour je ne sais quelle raison. Je n'ai pas de critique à faire sur ce livre mais ça fait des jours que je suis dessus et que je n'avance que très lentement. Donc je l'abandonne en espérant trouver une prochaine lecture qui me sortira de cette panne.
Je le reprendrai peut-être plus tard.

J'abandonne. Monsieur est un Don Juan irrésistible qui a couché avec un nombre incalculable de femmes et ça déjà j'en ai marre dans les romances. Ensuite, le gars ne donne pas le choix à la fille de se marier avec lui, il lui fait du chantage. Par ailleurs, c'est un roi mais personne ne s'adresse à lui comme tel, et lui, manque également terriblement d'étiquette. Et enfin, où est la romance ?

Je n'aime rien dans ce livre malheureusement. Je n'arrive pas à cerner les personnages parce que pour l'instant ils ne sont pas développés du tout. Tout est à la surface, rien en profondeur. Et rien ne fait sens, tout semble forcé entre les deux personnages. Bref, ça va vite me mettre dans une panne de lecture donc il vaut mieux abandonner.

There's been a little bit of world building so I understand it better now. I can fully enjoy the story. But now I want more of Nico and Camilla together.

I am loving this so much. It's so cosy and adorable. It's hard to put down.

J'ai envie d'abandonner pcq je n'aime pas la façon dont c'est raconté. Il n'y a pas assez de dialogues. Tout est raconté internement, je ne sais pas trop comment dire. L'histoire ne me tient pas en haleine. Je n'arrive pas à connaître les personnages. 117 pages et Julien a dû parler 3 fois. On nous vend quand même une romance, de base. Et le monde du tennis est bcp trop présent et je n'arrive pas à m'y intéresser.

J'aime beaucoup le concept de devoir prendre des décisions et d'aller au chapitre en conséquence, mais où sont les dialogues dans ce livre ?? Il n'y en a vraiment pas assez. Ce qui fait que ça manque de dynamisme, et ça m'empêche de bien connaître les personnages. Mais bon, 84 pages c'est encore le début donc bon.

I wish I enjoyed this book more but so far I've been cringing a lot. I like the MFC's POV but I can't say the same for the MMC's POV. I feel like the author is trying too hard to make him sound like a dude, to make us believe that it's a true male's voice and not words from a female author, but Lux, the MMC, and his friends, who are grown men, just sound like teenage boys. So many lines make me cringe.

This book is honeslty incredible. I hadn't read such a beautiful writing in a long time. If ever. I don't want to put the book down but my eyelids are getting so heavy. I must sleep.

It hits close to home : "Time will slowly heal you[...]. There are good days and there are difficult days. Your grief will never fully fade; it will always be with you, a shadow you carry in your soul, but it will become fainter as your life becomes brighter. You will learn to live outside of it again, as impossible as that may sound. Other who share your pain will also help you heal. Because your are not alone."

I am not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. I don't like the writing or the fact that the female characters call each other "bitch" or that Tucker calls Taylor Darlin'. Cringe 🥴. The feel of this book is too young yet the characters are in their late twenties or in their thirties. The dialogues are too short and don't feel natural. And there's a lot of tellling instead of showing.

So far, this is already my favorite book in the Hell's Belles series. I love the banter between Imogen and Tommy. (Also, not gonna lie I love the nickname Tommy since I watched Peaky Blinders.)

Did I say on page 239 that it was starting to be a romantasy? My bad. I take that back. One chapter of Violet and Xaden and bam I thought there was going to be more of them but no. It went back to chapters of Violet and her friends. Xaden's barely a secondary character, let alone a main character. I really want to read more of him but 323 pages in and he's still very much a mystery and barely there.

I feel like I've been ranting a lot in my updates so here's a positive one : I do like the book, I enjoy reading it and I am invested in the story. It's taking me forever to read it but that's because I don't have enough free time where I can cosily curl up with a book.

Finally ! It's finally turning into a romantasy book. I can't wait to read more of Xaden and Violet spending time together.
And Violet FINALLY understood that Dain is not good for her. I could not read more of Dain. I haven't read a more annoying male character since Tamlin.

Rant coming : I love the dragons and all but isn't this supposed to be a romantasy ? Almost 200 pages into the book and Xaden and Violet have barely interacted. As a romantasy, I expected way more interactions between them. I know they will come eventually but what I mean is I expected more interactions between them sooner. Because 200 pages in and it's a fantasy book, not a romantasy. (Not yet at least.)

I must admit I was a bit bored until page 160. I feel like it's just getting started. For the first time since I began the book, I don't want to put it down. Unfortunately, life calls.

- Jack Barlowe is Draco Malefoy.
- Dain is annoying and on page too often.
- I want less Dain and more Xaden.
Other than that, so far so good.

This book is supposed to be about Daphne and Lorcan and I love their romance but it is overshadowed by chapters of Delilah and Tristan, and chapters of Angelique and Lucien. They've had their own book. I wish the author would just let them go. Mention them and have them be secondary characters? Yes. But dedicate entire chapters with their POV ?? No, please. I want Daphne and Lorcan !!!

I've just read almost 40 pages in a row of detailed sex (they had sex three times) and then, they have closed door sex four other times the same day 🤣🤣 it just makes me laugh. Come on.
