Want learn to read Anglo-Saxon? Earle is BETTER THAN Plummer's 1885 re-packaging. (And better than Beowulf, closer to everyday idioms etc.) The side-by-side chronicles are 2 variations, differing in content or spelling. Glossary is COMPLETE. So read the OE and take notes/look in the back for words you can't guess, or want to know etymology of. So, 1 pg a week/a sentence or 2 a day) ...

Found in the free book bin outside the library -- sure sign that a book produced a strong reaction, not to even make it into the book sale pile. I think most all books/novels have paragraphs you should skim, so I have no problem doing that in this case. I'm sure I will look for another Norfolk book after this.
