This book is intense, frustrating and captivating. Sad part is that all of the carelessness and the failure to take responsibility from the higher ranking officers to save their careers, one man took the hit and that man was Capt. McVay.

This book gives you a different perspective of the state of mind of the Kamikaze. People believe that their sole purpose was to break the will of the allies. The ideology is more than that, and it runs deeper and is older than some of us might think. You have to respect the Japanese will of not giving up and sacrificing themselves to protect Japan and to fight for whatever their ambitions were.

Interesting book and eye opening as to why the Kamikaze came about and how old this ideology was.
