After reading the preface by Beth Clark, and the intro by Katie, I barely made it to the actual storyline. Although it's good so far, I'm not sure how much interest I have in it. It feels all somewhat rushed and pushed, rather than flowing smoothly and really telling a story. I want to know her story, the story, but as of now, I'm only getting "I love the children, I love the dirt, I love the place" so I wait....

the ultimate betrayal happened, ties have been severed and the last like three pages I sat there with my mouth open the whole time. "I kneel."

THe revolution has begun, and my favorite line thus far has been about Mareś weakness (Definitely Cal)

At this point there's a lot of betrayals I did NOT see coming, but also some alliances I didn't expect. This seems harder to get into than Red Queen, & this for sure is moving at a more awkward pace - the action is more intense, but the plot seems to be going nowhere. It reminds me of Catching Fire, bc I felt like it had no real plot movement. I hope it turns out better, bc I'm actually bored with it at the moment.

I'm so excited to be reading this sequel!! At this point, Mare and the Guard are still on the run from Maven and his reign of terror. They are working to assemble an army in order to protect life the way it should be. As the "King" tries to search out Mare and destroy her and what she stands for, it will be a fight to the death no doubt.
