So so good so far that I’m speechless. My expectations were mixed here but as of finishing chapter 3,, the religious themes, the jumping in time, the hard turns of the different characters point of views and their subsequent tones. I gasped and sucked my teeth through the last chapter. This one’s going to linger with me I think.

AHHHHHH but also,, beautiful and horrible and enlightening and maddening. There’s hope, but so much madness and pain has nearly eclipsed reason. I’ve been dragging my feet finishing the last few pages, I haven’t been able to put these ghosts to bed yet.

God, I just want the past to stop haunting us all.

Killing me so far, I missed sooo much of the interpersonal agony and triumph and illusion as a teenager.
