I fucking love this movie and Keri Russell in it. Figured I’d give the book a go for my cozy Christmas reading.

reads easily, entertaining so far

I’m back, bitches!!! Had a rough couple of months but trying to implement my healthy habits again. This novel though… I know Rooney is not going to give my tender, vulnerable heart the happy ending I deserve so I’m trying (and failing miserably) not to get too attached to these characters.

At this point I’m already very annoyed by the main character. She’s a naive, white, rich girl who needs a guy to tell her women can have dreams, too. Her naïveté annoys me IMMENSELY. The mindless war propaganda, too. But maybe that’s the point and now Frankie will enter the real world and grow up. Let’s see.

Loving it so far; the tension slowly building, Isabel’s character is just so very intriguing (I currently don’t have a better word for it), the setting..

on to this beauty; a debut written by my dear friend’s partner which was just longlisted for the booker!! so excited to read this

Joining Reese’s Book Club this month by reading this (used to love Rowell’s YA novels when I was younger); so far I feel the characters have something tragic about them and I’m invested!

oops I started this one without planning to - after my disappointment with the first installment I didn’t think I was going to start this one, but I’m in a bit of a reading rut lately and this is, although being 800 pages, a fast read, which I really need. Also, book Jamie is getting better in terms of misogyny ;)
