It's a bit difficult to empathise with the MC as he is a bit of a sociopath. The bad guy is just a bit more of a sociopath, but there really isn't all that much of a difference between them.

It's kind of stupid that the company would declare war then immediately go on the defencive and no plan to strike back. It makes no sense and seriously undermines the story.

Book is good. Only one thing gets a bit annoying: there's a twelve year old character that is very poorly written. She's talks exactly like the main character, in a way that's completely alien to any one that age that I've met. The author obviously wanted snark, but apparently only knows one way of writing it. All her lines are more apt from a 30 year old, rather than a preteen.
