It’s always so jarring when an author sets their novel in medieval times and then has the characters say stuff like “cops” when referring to guards, “bullshit” and “we’ll take it from here, boys”…

It’s been so long since I read fanfiction I forgot the characters think about everything A LOT. So much thinking…
