I hope I don't have nightmares like I did when I watched this movie in 9th grade World History, but my high school son wanted me to read it with him at bedtime so here we are...probably should read this in the daylight now that I'm two chapters in...yes, daylight, over cookies and tea, because wow. This is even harder as a momma of teen boys.

Reading second time through with second set of kids.

Cannot put this down. So beautifully written. Unsure how to pronounce the name Roberval. Rober-val. Ro-ber-val? Any guesses?
The story is so suspenseful and unpredictable, a trait in stories I love. What will happen next? I will have to finish it tomorrow.

I've stayed up way past I should have on a Saturday night, reading. This book is wrecking me. The fact that this is historically accurate makes me want to vomit. I just finished James by Percival and picked this up, but now I need a break from this time period after I finish this one.
The book is fantastic and so well written. It is definitely a 5 star read so far.

This is the strangest book I have ever read.
