Rump.

Schlooooop! I am sucked into this one

I am enjoying this book despite the fact that I feel like I have been reading it most of my life. It's somewhere around a bagillion pages long.

“When It’s Human Instead of When It’s Dog” has me in literal tears. It’s amazing how she says so much in so few words.

I'm almost finished and so far, no clowns. I'm not sure what the executives at Zebra were thinking about this cover other than, "CLOWNS ARE SO HOT RIGHT NOW! GET ME A CLOWN! A SKULL CLOWN!"

The story involves (non-clown related) disappearances in a small Vermont town. I'm digging it.

I'm about halfway through but I'm throwing in the towel on this one. Holden Caulfield and I are just not vibing. He sees the worst in every person he meets and situation he finds himself in and bums me out. He is the literary version of Buzz Killington. I don't know if this is the point or if he grows as a character, all I know is I have lots of other books to read and this one is only bumming me out.

The cover drew me in and then I found out it takes place in Door County, Wisconsin, so it cut up to the front of the TBR line.

I had to DNF this one. I think there is a good story in there but there is so much filler and backstory that my ADHD-addled brain checks out.
