When reading a book that analyzes a topic dear to the heart, there is, for me anyway, a sense of intrepidation. Will the author be able to capture (and illuminate) years of my investment with their analysis? Or will the analysis reveal hidden cracks or betray the previous adoration of the topic was immature in scope and cannot stand the rigorous examination. So far, it appears I can trust Miles with “my” X-Men.
