There’s been a lot of great conversation in the last couple of chapters: police brutality against black women, preparing black daughters for this harsh world, fat shaming & black women’s confidence and more. Wow 🤎

Thoroughly enjoying the history behind Drew Collins University & getting to know each character. The characters are sooo black & I’m here for it 😂 iykyk. The only downside is that I’m unsure if I like the writing style.

I’m not enjoying this book as much as I thought I would, but I’ll finish it 🫩

Honestly, I haven’t been patient enough to continue reading this book thoroughly 😅 it’s insightful and I can appreciate the research, but I skimmed chapters 7-12, only slowing down at parts where I wanted more info. The last 9 chapters detail the journey of recovery, so I plan to slow down & read thoroughly.

Uhhh I was not expecting a murder in this story, but here we are 🫣

Trying to give this book a chance, but I’m close to giving up 😅 the plot isn’t keeping my attention.
