The author isn't an expert at writing action scenes or creating interesting mysteries with satisfying resolutions. I hear the character development is really good which I see a little bit of that in this book and the story is good enough to get through. 2.75

What a disastrous choice for a cover. This book is much better than it's marketing. And I'm only a few chapters in.

It's interesting yet boring at the same time. I'm very tempted to just read the cliff notes but I'll continue to power through to the end.
